09 06 26 peace (sermon)

What does it actually mean to have peace? We often think of it as the absence of conflict, a sense of calm when things are going our way. But this message challenges us to look far deeper than that. Drawing from Philippians 4 and several of Paul's letters, we explore the difference between human peace and divine peace, and why that distinction changes everything. The peace God offers is not dependent on our circumstances, our comfort, or our control. It is a gift from the God of peace Himself, always available, always sufficient. We are invited to examine what we are allowing into our minds, what we are choosing to dwell on, and whether we are bringing our anxieties to God in prayer or simply rehearsing them to ourselves. The insight that worry is essentially praying to ourselves about things we cannot control is one that cuts straight to the heart of how we handle fear and uncertainty. This is not a passive peace. It is one we actively receive, pursue, and protect.
